The Journal Inžinerinė ekonomika-Engineering Economics is a peer-reviewed journal and publishes original articles presenting new information and reviews. Publications provide essential ideas and information that will help for new scientific inquiries and improve competency, efficiency and productivity in various economic activities.
The Journal Inžinerinė ekonomika-Engineering Economics  provides an international forum for the dissemination of the latest original research, achievements and developments in many areas by covering a wide field of scientific problems related to economic trends and issues, industrial and business economics; the development, marketing, and financing of new engineering technologies, products and services; product and services markets and demand influences; analytical and simulation models, empirical research, managerial decisions, and so on.

The Journal Inžinerinė ekonomika-Engineering Economics consists of key sections

All material of the manuscripts submitted for publication to the Journal must be of a high scientific level and previously unpublished.

The journal is published five times a year: February, April, June, October and December.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. In this journal published information is allowed to use in other Web sites, traditional media, distribution in non-commercial purposes, but it is necessary to provide the Engineering Economics as the source of information.


Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is one of the largest technological universities in the Baltic States. Dating back to 1922, it was established as the first independent higher education institution in Lithuania.
Today the University is famous for its research contracts and collaboration with domestic and foreign industry sectors. The constant focus on the latest trends helps KTU to create solutions to various scientific and practical problems: from smart appliances to diagnostics tools and nuclear equipment.
The institution offers six main fields of study: technological, physical and social sciences, arts, humanities and biomedicine.

Author Guidelines

Important note. Starting from July 1, 2014 the Editorial Board is only pre-reviewing manuscripts with paid submission fee of 50 € (fifty Euro) per paper and makes decision of the eligibility of the papers for subsequent processing phases. This fee is payable at the time of submission and is not returnable.

General requirements

  1. Paper should start with a discussion of a scientific problem or question, revealing the knowledge gap in the literature: show, who and how has analyzed the scientific problem of the article in the world economic literature (name of the author, year).
  2. Topic must fit the aims and content of the article.
  3. The language of the manuscript submitted for consideration for possible publication will be evaluated by our editors to decide if it is of sufficient quality. English language of the manuscript is strongly recommended to be checked by a specialist of English language before submission.
  4. At the end of the article has to be literature list (normally not less than 25). All the sources of the list have to be referenced in the article, indicating the family names of the authors and the publication year, e.g. (Gatautis, 2008)
  5. The literature sources of the article must include as much as possible Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) cited journals (normally, not less than 20 articles).
  6. Articles should be prepared by means of Microsoft Word
  7. All figures should be prepared in black and white only
  8. The recommended length of an article should not exceed 10 pages
  9. Please note that Journal of “Inzinerine ekonomika-Engineering Economics” uses CrossCheck™ software to screen papers for unoriginal material.
  10. The language of the article (original file) is only English and the structure should be as follows:
    • Title of the article;
    • Full first name of the author and the family name;
    • Author's working place and it's address, E-mail;
    • Abstract (about 1500 characters);
    • Keywords (not less 5);
    • Introduction, indicating the article's scientific problem, novelty, aim, object, research methods;
    • Text of the article;
    • Conclusions;
    • List of references.
  11. Following supplementary files are obligatory to be submitted:
    1. Data about authors (name, first name, working place and it's address; academic degree and name, indicating science field and direction, phone, E-mail);
    2. Author's Guarantee Form; 
    3. Confirmation of payment of submission fee.
  12. Bank account details for submission fee. 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word  document file format. 
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. (More detail see Requirements for the preparation of a scholarly article )
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Double-blind Review have been followed.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
