Towards High-Speed Raman Spectroscopy for Industrial Sorting Applications

A real-time Raman mapping system for detecting and discriminating a range of industrially relevant materials such as glasses and various minerals is presented. The system is built from components that are suitable for industrial conditions. Together with a signal processing and a chemo-metric model, the system was shown to be capable of discriminating between the test materials. We argue that the approach is a novel alternative to established sorting sensors.

MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF HIGH TEMPERATURE USING DISTRIBUTED FIBER OPTIC SENSOR

In this paper the working principle and application status of distributed optical fiber temperature sensor, amplified spontaneous Raman scattering phenomenon and its time-domain characteristics are analyzed. A new measuring principle based on amplified spontaneous Raman scattering light pulse signal temperature effect is presented, and is applied to distributed optical fiber sensor systems. SENSORS FOR MONITORING COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES

The application of sensors encompasses many sectors of industry. In this paper, we outline different sensors – Raman distributed temperature sensor, sensor based on nano ferrofluids and MEMS based ultrasonic sensors. The development and application of these sensors for monitoring performance of systems and processes are discussed. Further, we also discuss the application of acoustic emission and infrared thermal imaging for process monitoring.

1-5 Napthalenedisulphonic acid (NDSA) doped polypyrrole thin films are prepared by chemical oxidation polymerization and applied as modified claddings to optical fibers for organophosphate (dimethyl-methyl phosphonate, DMMP) sensing. DMMP sensing takes place via intensity modulation in multimode fibers due to refractive index modulation in polypyrrole films due to DMMP adsorption. Gain analysis of high-speed DWDM link with different optical amplification configurations

through the action of an external pump source that generally operates either at 980 nm or 1480 nm. An important feature of EDFA is its ability to amplify signals in the C and L bands of the optical spectrum with low noise and cross talk as compared with SOA (Srinuan and Noppanakeepong, 2013; Pedro and Costa, 2018).
