Prevention of cadmium-induced neurotoxicity in rats by essential nutrients present in nuts

, leading to impaired neurogenesis, neuronal differentiation and axonogenesis and ultimately neuronal cell death (Chong et al., 2017). Neuronal changes due to cadmium intoxication can manifest in the behavioral patterns of an affected individual. Olfactory abnormalities, reduced ability to concentrate, learning dysfunction and reduced IQ level have been reported in children exposed to cadmium toxicity (Wang and Du, 2013).
