POWER ISHITA DISTRIBUTION AND ITS APPLICATION TO MODEL LIFETIME DATA

real lifetime data from engineering, and its goodness of fit shows better fit over two-parameter power Akash distribution (PAD), twoparameter power Lindley distribution (PLD) and one-parameter Ishita, Akash, Lindley and exponential distributions.

SUJATHA DISTRIBUTION AND ITS APPLICATIONS

, stochastic ordering, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves, and stress-strength reliability have been discussed. Estimation of its parameter has been discussed using the method of maximum likelihood and the method of moments. The applications and goodness of fit of the distribution have been discussed with three real lifetime data sets and the fit has been compared with one-parameter lifetime distributions including Akash, Shanker, Lindley and exponential distributions.

A New Quasi Sujatha Distribution

are also analysed. The method of moments and the method of maximum likelihood estimations is discussed for estimating parameters of the proposed distribution. A numerical example is presented to test its goodness of fit, which is then compared with other one-parameter and two-parameter lifetime distributions.

A new generalization of the Pareto distribution and its applications

estimation. Approximate confidence intervals are obtained by means of an asymptotic property of the maximum likelihood and maximum product spacings methods, while the Bayes credible intervals are found by using the Monte Carlo Markov Chain method under different loss functions. A simulation analysis is conducted to compare the estimation methods. Finally, the application of the proposed new distribution to three real-data examples is presented and its goodness-of-fit is demonstrated. In addition

Sampling Error in Relation to Cyst Nematode Population Density Estimation in Small Field Plots

soil. Goodness of fit of data to probability distribution tested with x2 test confirmed a negative binomial distribution of cyst counts for 21 out of 23 plots. The recommended measure of sampling precision of 17% expressed through coefficient of variation (cv) was achieved if the plots of 1m2 contaminated with more than 90 cysts per 100 g of soil were sampled with 10-core bulk samples taken in five repetitions. If plots were contaminated with less than 75 cysts per 100 g of soil, 10-core bulk
