Classification of artificial light sources and estimation of Color Rendering Index using RGB sensors, K Nearest Neighbor and Radial Basis Function

Three types of artificial light sources work with electricity: incandescent, fluorescent and LED. These sources require characterization processes to allow selecting the most suitable for the application, to evaluate their capacity or more recently to tune and adjust their replicability using control algorithms. Therefore, it has been necessary to develop indices that represent these capabilities. The Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a measure used to characterize the color reproducibility of a

CHARACTERIZATION OF PHOTODECTORS USING A MONOCHROMATOR AND A BROADBAND LIGHT SOURCE IN THE XYZ COLOR SPACE

such measurements to study light sources. Finally, this newly developed method helps studying the behavior of a photodetector in detail; hence, it enables the derivation of photometric measurements from known data or simulations.

LT-PAM: A Ranging Method Using Dual Frequency Optical Signals

experiments using two types of light sources, collimated and diffused light. The experimental results indicated that the proposed method showed a moderate level of accuracy by adjusting the measurement time. For example, LT-PAM using a light emitting diode transmitting multiple sync patterns lasting 4 ms achieved 19.5 mm standard deviation in a measurement ranging 1500 mm. We also describe the theoretical analyses related to the proposed technique and discuss possible improvements by comparing theoretical

The Effect of Residual Stress on Coupling Power Loss of VCSEL Modulus

In this article, the effect of residual stress on active region misalignmentof laser light sources for vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL)modulus has been studied. The post-weld-shift variation of active region introduced from the residual stress distribution variation for different VCSELsolder joints, i.e. tin-silver (Sn/3.5Ag) and tin-lead (Sn/37Pb) solder joints,a resimulated by employing the thermal-elastic-plastic finite element model of MARC package. The ball grid solidification

A REVIEW ON APPLICATIONS OF OPTICAL TOMOGRAPHY IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS

This paper reviews some of the recent applications of optical tomography as a measurement tool for process parameters measurement such as flow concentration profiles, velocity profiles, and mass flow rate. The attentions that have been received by the optical tomography system for the applications of industrial parameters measurement are mainly because of the radiation safe emission of light sources to human or environment, fast response time, non-intrusive technique, and established models of
