was also applied after the completion of the exercise session.
Behavioral tests
Both behavioral tests were carried out in the early morning (09:00-12:00) on the day after the final exercise session. The open field test (OFT) always preceded elevated plus maze (EPM), and there was no break between tests. The test room was kept silent under consistent light (110 lux, warm light). The observer remained outside during the test session. A hidden camera recorded the entire test, and the tapes were

Bipolar disorder is a chronic disease characterized by recurring episodes of mania and depression that can lead to disability. This study investigates the protective effects of edaravone (3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one), a drug with well-known antioxidant properties, in a model of mania induced by ketamine in rats. Locomotor activity was assessed in the open-field test. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) levels were measured in

axonal growth (GAP-43 expression) and both microglia (Iba-1) and astrocyte (GFAP) reactions at the lesion site and in the segments below and above the lesion. To detect functional improvement, during whole survival period we performed behavioral analyses of locomotor abilities using a classical open field test (BBB score) and a Catwalk automated gait analyzing device (Noldus). We found that despite the absence of locomotor improvement, application of both alginate and MSCs caused significant increase

Behavioral tests
Rats were brought to the testing room 30 min before the start of each behavioral test and remained in the same room through the test. All behavioral tests were performed during the light cycle under lighting condition in 70 lx by experimenters blind to treatment information.
Open field test (OFT)
The OFT is a well-established paradigm to examine fear in rodents (Walsh and Cummins, 1976). The test apparatus was made of opaque materials into lidless boxes with length

.) dissolved in normal saline for 21 days.
It should be noted that, in the groups treated with MPH in combination with crocin, administration of crocin was performed first. MPH was administered after one hour.
During the 17th and 21st days, the Morris water maze (MWM) task, a standard behavioral process for the evaluation of learning and spatial memory, was performed. In day 22, the open field test (OFT) was used as a standard test for the evaluation of locomotor changes in experimental animals. After the
