Prevalence and Antifungal Susceptibility of the Emerging Fungal Species, Candida nivariensis, Isolated in a Teaching Hospital in Poland

the MICs values of the antifungals tested. Both species were susceptible to amphotericin B; their MIC was not higher than 1.0 μg/ml. The international data on C. nivariensis and C. bracarensis resistance to azoles is different. The MIC values for azole (especially fluconazole) was high against some strains what may suggest that they could have the same resistance mechanisms as C. glabrata sensu stricto.
