Achilles tendon degeneration on ultrasound in type 2 diabetic patients

observe any significant male/female differences, while sex differences were not evaluated by Batista et al.(7) Overweight is a known risk factor for tendon degeneration(5); however, in this study, both T2DM subjects and controls showed no significant influence of BMI on the occurrence of disorganized AT fibers, AT hypoechoic and calcific foci. This observation agrees with the findings of Batista et al.(7) Conversely, Abate et al.(5) found a significant association between BMI and degenerative changes
