SENSORS FOR MONITORING COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES

The application of sensors encompasses many sectors of industry. In this paper, we outline different sensors – Raman distributed temperature sensor, sensor based on nano ferrofluids and MEMS based ultrasonic sensors. The development and application of these sensors for monitoring performance of systems and processes are discussed. Further, we also discuss the application of acoustic emission and infrared thermal imaging for process monitoring.

RESEARCH ON THERMAL CONDITIONS IN VENTILATED LARGE SPACE BUILDING

Abstract The aim of the paper was to verify whether it is possible to predict thermal indoor environment in an industrial facility, characterized by large cubature and significant heat sources using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique. For this purpose, thermal imaging measurements were carried out to obtain boundary conditions, followed by numerical simulations of the airflow using the Ansys CFX software. assessed and compared with high-resolution thermal imaging camera. Good agreement between both systems was achieved and the inexpensive developed system was found to have an accuracy of 95%.
