Implementation of Pan-Tilt System for Locating Based on ARM

monitoring provides an effective way for public security and judicial organs to prevent and crack down on illegal and criminal acts and maintain social stability. It is also important for promoting a harmonious society and safeguarding people’s stability and life [5-7]. The key is that how to make the PTZ stabilize quickly. In this passage, a two-degree-of-freedom Pan/Tilt System is designed and implemented, which adopts stepper motor. The stepper motor has lower cost, simpler circuitry and easier

An Improved Capacitance-Based Intentionally Imperfect Sensor for Measuring Mechanical Parameters

In this paper, details of an improved imperfect sensor for measuring mechanical parameters is presented. A PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) membrane filled with randomly distributed conductive balls is the sensing element. The random distribution of the balls make the sensor imperfect and unique, like sensors in nature. Mechanical forces such as pressure, tilt and acceleration deform the membrane. Capacitive electrodes transform the movement of the membrane filled with conductive balls into change

. Using the transformation matrix, it is possible to align the original reference system of the accelerometer to another coordinate system. The satisfactory results of this experiment show the need of implementing the here described method to enable the use of variable tilt measurements.

Model selection in radon data fusion

Fitting parametric models or the use of the empirical cumulative distribution function are problematic when it comes to the estimation of tail probabilities from small samples. A possible remedy is to fuse or combine the small samples with additional data from external sources and base the inference on the so called density ratio model with variable tilt functions, which widens the support of the estimated distribution of interest. This approach is illustrated using residential radon
