system composed by two electronic cards, based on microcontrollers CB405 and PIC16F877 for the signal acquisition from the encoders and distance measurements from ultrasonic sensors (SRF08 and SRF04). The ultrasonic sensors used to improve the localization when we use an automatic control system. Several techniques exist for sensors fusion solves the problems of mobile robots localization. Among these methods, we can quote the particle filter that use data from the encoders and measures from the

Feasibility Evaluation on an Instant Invader Detection System with Ultrasonic Sensors Scattered on the Ground

systemintermsofinvaderdetectionaccuracyandsystemlifetime. Wefirstlyinvestigatewhatsensorcanbeusedandhowthesensor should be used for the human detection. Then, for evaluating the proportion of invader detection and necessary energy for sensor nodes, we perform simulations that are based on the measured characteristics of ultrasonic sensors placed on the ground. Experimental results show that the proposed system can attain 99% invader detection while the sensor nodes can survive with a button cell for four years. In addition, this performance can be

The application of sensors encompasses many sectors of industry. In this paper, we outline different sensors – Raman distributed temperature sensor, sensor based on nano ferrofluids and MEMS based ultrasonic sensors. The development and application of these sensors for monitoring performance of systems and processes are discussed. Further, we also discuss the application of acoustic emission and infrared thermal imaging for process monitoring.

Evaluation of navigation system of a robot designed for greenhouse spraying

and the movement was controlled by a solenoid control valve. The tractor proposed by Iida and Burks (2002) is equipped with ultrasonic sensors and make it possible to estimate the instantaneous distance between the vehicle and three rows of the canopy. They also proved the capabilities of the system consisted of the fuzzy PD controller and the ultrasonic sensor. In other study, analyzed and researched motion control strategies and methods of design for an agricultural robot that acquires

Automated Mobility and Orientation System for Blind or Partially Sighted People

as a sighted people. The system is linked with a GSM-GPS module to pin-point the location of the blind person and to establish a two way communication path in a wireless fashion. Moreover, it provides the direction information as well as information to avoid obstacles based on ultrasonic sensors. A beeper, an accelerometer sensor and vibrator are also added to the system. The whole system is designed to be small, light and is used in conjunction with the white cane. The results have shown that
